Director:POSITION SUMMARY:
The person selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of Lighthouse Tutoring & Enrichment, LLC and will be responsible for providing an appropriately safe, caring and enriching environment for the children enrolled in your site. Site Directors are responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, setting an example for children, parents and co-workers by reflecting the Lighthouse core values of excellence, leadership, integrity, teamwork, and esteem. Program Directors are responsible for complying with all standards set by Bright from the Start and will assist in ensuring that staff members adhere to all Lighthouse Policies and Procedures.
GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Adhere to policies as stated in the Lighthouse Policies and Procedures Manual and in subsequent Lighthouse trainings and workshops.
· Attend staff meetings, generally held at the job site from 6:15-7:15 p.m.
· Work in a collaborative environment and encourage open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents or co-workers.
· Maintain open communication with the Lighthouse Program Specialist.
· Initiate and maintain positive relationships with tennis/school staff including principal, secretaries, custodial staff and teachers of key importance to the after school programs.
· Create a schedule or calendar of events for each level that is academically, atheletially, and socially enriching.
· Create a work schedule and post 2 week in advance.
· Determine field trip destinations and accomodations that are appropriate for the summer camp students.
· Keep a consistent head count on all children present at site; communicate changes with all other staff
· Assist in maintaining cleaning schedules; including janitorial duties necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the tennis facility and Lighthouse vans
· Comply with the “checks and balances ”system to ensure that clean-up is done EVERYDAY
· Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, absences and emergency information on each child
· Comply with all emergency procedures appropriate to the site and inconformity with procedures adopted by emergency service authorities to ensure the safety of the children and staff
· Maintain all supplies, equipment and materials; inform the Lighthouse Program Specialist when new/additional supplies are needed monthly.
· Ensure that all staff and children are respectful of the Lighthouse center’s property; ensure all Lighthouse rules are followed
